TAICHUNG, TAIWAN (October 16, 2014) -- Bio-medical Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. (BCT), a leading global wound care products developer and manufacturer, together with its U.S. distributor, Naka Won Int’l Corp. (Naka Won) presented KoCarbonAg, the silver activated carbon wound dressing and the flagship product of BCT, and KoCarbon, the activated carbon wound dressing, at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Fall 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on October 16 – October 18, 2014.

The SAWC, which is hosted by the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and celebrating its 27th year in 2014, is the largest and best wound care conference in the U.S. Physicians, podiatrists, nurses, physical therapists, and allied health professionals from around the wound are all invited to attend over 40 new clinical sessions and to participate a major exhibition of products and services.

BCT’s research and clinical applications of KoCarbonAg was well regarded by audiences. KoCarbonAg is a silver activated carbon wound dressing made of polyacrylonitrile-based activated carbon fibers, which provides a much higher level of absorption capacities to bacteria and wound odor and is far superior to the traditional charcoal carbon fibers. Created by patented technology, KoCarbonAg is antimicrobial and can be applied to acute, chronic, and infected wounds, surgical, and burn wounds.

Since its FDA 510(k) clearance in April 2014 and collaboration with Naka Won, KoCarbonAg is now widely available in the United States and has been used by many nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and doctors in throughout the Las Vegas area.
